✅ Starlink or other similar communications equipment, inverters, and solar power equipment (including panels and batteries) will be allowed to be imported free of customs duties and GCT.
What’s Happening:
The Government of Jamaica has declared the country a disaster area under the Disaster Risk Management Act (DRMA) following Hurricane Melissa.
To support relief efforts, Customs Duty and General Consumption Tax (GCT) are being waived for 60 days on goods imported by the general public for disaster recovery.

Relief Code:
💬 Use Additional National Code (ANC) “CH9” when shipping or clearing relief items through Jamaican Customs.
